Kelowna Feldenkrais® Teacher Training Program is certified with the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB) of the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training.
Before you enrol at a certified private training institution, you should be aware of your rights and responsibilities.
You have the right to be treated fairly and respectfully by the institution.
You have the right to a student enrolment contract that includes the following information:
You have the right to access the institution’s dispute resolution process and to be protected against retaliation for making a complaint.
You have the right to make a claim to PTIB for a tuition refund if:

- your institution ceased to hold a certificate before you completed an approved program
- you were misled about a significant aspect of your approved program.

Respectful and Fair Treatment of Students Policy
The Kelowna Feldenkrais Teacher Training Program is committed to ensuring that its learning environment promotes the respectful and fair treatment of all students.
While on Kelowna Feldenkrais Teacher Training Program premises or in the course of activities or events hosted by Kelowna Feldenkrais™ Teacher Training Program the following activities are prohibited:
If under any circumstances, a prohibited activity occurs, the following outlines the process for addressing the activity:
The Kelowna Feldenkrais Teacher Training Program is committed to ensuring that its learning environment promotes the respectful and fair treatment of all students.
While on Kelowna Feldenkrais Teacher Training Program premises or in the course of activities or events hosted by Kelowna Feldenkrais™ Teacher Training Program the following activities are prohibited:
- bullying,
- harassment,
- discrimination
- hate speech of any kind
- abuse of alcohol or other drugs
If under any circumstances, a prohibited activity occurs, the following outlines the process for addressing the activity:
- A report of prohibited activity must be made to any member of the staff.
- A meeting will be held for a full discussion of the perceived problems with the trainee.
- After the trainee has had an opportunity to be heard by the Educational Director, a decision will be made regarding suspension, termination or remedials to be taken for reinstatement in the training.
Sexual Misconduct Policy
1. The Kelowna Feldenkrais™ Teacher Training Program is committed to the prevention of and appropriate response to sexual misconduct.
2. Sexual misconduct refers to a spectrum of non-consensual sexual contact and behaviour including the following:
4. A student making a Complaint will be provided with resolution options and, if appropriate, accommodation, and will not be required or pressured to make a Report.

10. Any processes undertaken pursuant to this policy will be based on the principles of administrative fairness. All parties involved will be treated with dignity and respect.
11. All information related to a Complaint or Report is confidential and will not be shared without the written consent of the parties, subject to the following exceptions:

- sexual assault;
- sexual exploitation;
- sexual harassment;
- stalking;
- indecent exposure;
- voyeurism;
- the distribution of a sexually explicit photograph or video of a person to one or more persons other than the person in the photograph or video without the consent of the person in the photograph or video and with the intent to distress the person in the photograph or video;
- the attempt to commit an act of sexual misconduct; and
- the threat to commit an act of sexual misconduct.
4. A student making a Complaint will be provided with resolution options and, if appropriate, accommodation, and will not be required or pressured to make a Report.
5. The process for making a Complaint about sexual misconduct involving a student is as follows:
- The trainee may make a complaint to the Administrators of the Program, Sandra Bradshaw or Alice Friedman or Gisele St Hilaire. Alternatively, they may take the complaint to any member of the staff.
- The institution will acknowledge the receipt of the complaint within 2 weeks of receipt of the Complaint and the Administrators will arrange a meeting with the complainant to further gather information and try to find steps to resolution.
- A written Report and request for action may be made to any of the Administrators of the program as named above or any member of the Kelowna Feldenkrais Training staff. The Report will include details and description of time, place and other pertinent information and a request for disciplinary or other action.
- The administrators will review the written report and reply, in writing within a reasonable time with the next steps to be taken. These can include proceeding according to the dismissal policy or what may be required according to law.
- This policy is not intended to supersede or interfere with prevailing laws. Anyone who has experienced Sexual Violence or Misconduct has the right to pursue criminal or civil legal avenues whether or not they choose to proceed under this Policy.

11. All information related to a Complaint or Report is confidential and will not be shared without the written consent of the parties, subject to the following exceptions:
- If an individual is at imminent risk of severe or life-threatening self-harm.
- If an individual is at imminent risk of harming another.
- There are reasonable grounds to believe that others in the institutional community may be at significant risk of harm based on the information provided.
- Where reporting is required by law.
- Where it is necessary to ensure procedural fairness in an investigation or other response to a Complaint or Report.
Dispute Resolution Policy

1. This policy governs complaints from students respecting Kelowna Feldenkrais® Teacher Training Program and any aspect of its operations. Student will not be subject to any form of retaliation as a result of filing a complaint.
2. All student complaints must be made in writing.
3. The student must provide the written complaint to the Educational Director who is responsible for making determinations in respect of complaints. If the Educational Director is absent or is named in a complaint, the student must provide the complaint to the Administrator or any other member of the Program Team.

- Written reasons for the determination will be provided to the student within 45 days after the date on which the complaint was made.

If the student is or was enrolled in an approved program, is dissatisfied with the determination, and has been misled by the institution regarding any significant aspect of that program, he or she may file a complaint with the Private Training Institutions Branch (www.privatetraininginstitutions.gov.bc.ca).
Attendance Policy: Kelowna Feldenkrais Teacher Training Program
1. The minimum attendance requirements for students are as follows:
1. The minimum attendance requirements for students are as follows:
- Trainees may miss no more than 25 hours in any academic year and no more than 50 hours over the whole course of the training program without formal makeup process. This includes in person and online instruction.
- Trainees must make up missed time with the assistance of the Educational Director and the training program teachers. Makeup work is to be done as soon as possible and, if at another training program, must be comparable in both content and stage in the training process.
- Trainees will not be graduated without having made up all missed time.
- A trainee must complete his/her training process within seven years’ time. Requests for exceptions will be considered by the North American Training Accreditation Board of the Guild.
- Trainees sign in each day morning and afternoon sessions and a record for each student and the entire class will be kept by the Administrator
- Trainees will report their missed time to the Administrator as soon as possible so the time can be entered in the attendance form.
- Made up time will be credited when proof of work is made
